Insights into Asia’s Hardware Industry —Three major driving forces behind 2019 China International Hardware Show

With the advancement of the "Made in China 2025" initiative in recent years, China’s hardware industry, under the guiding principles of having an innovation-driven manufacturing, emphasises quality over quantity as well as achieving green development and optimising the structure of the Chinese industry while continuously developing at a relatively high speed in terms of volume and sales.

The China International Hardware Show (CIHS) is the leading hardware show in Asia and the second largest in the world, organised by Koelnmesse and China National Hardware Association (CNHA). For 18 years it continuously develops its platform for domestic and international customers, taking into account the latest technologies, strengthening global cooperation and gaining an international reputation for quality products and brands from all over the world.

CIHS 2019 with new layout and focus on international & high-quality brands

After the challenge of moving the show dates in 2018 at short notice, Koelnmesse China and the China National Hardware Association, the organisers of CIHS, is pleased to announce that the new date will be maintained for the 2019 edition. The organiser expects that the early determination of the date from 10-12 October 2019 and the new show concept will lead to a participation of 3,000 or more exhibitors (CIHS 2018: 2,530) at the next edition. A special focus of CIHS 2019 will be on internationality and high-quality brands which will be located be in exhibition hall 5.1, which is the point of access to the venue for 80% of visitors. Compared with last year the total exhibition area 2019 will be located on one level on 120,000 square metres.

This year’s exhibition has a strong line-up of exhibitors including multiple pavilions from Germany, United States, Taiwan, South Korea, Turkey and India among others. Renowned Chinese enterprises such as Great Star from Hangzhou, Great Wall Precision Industrial from Ningbo, Hongbao Group from Jiangsu, Botou Safety Tools from Hebei, TDC Cutting Tools, Rong Cheng Tools from Zhejiang, Haiyan from China hardware industry base and Anping Hebei, Huanghua, Shunde Guangdong and Hebei pavilion will also participate. Additionally, the two co-located sub-industrial shows “China International Building Hardware & Fasteners Show” as well as “China International Locks & Security Doors Show” will be presented and further developed in hall 5.1.

New programme: Innovative industry forum targeting core Asian markets and business matching

As the number one trading platform for the hardware industry in Asia, we provide important access to more high-quality buyers. CIHS 2019 will continue and further develop the business matchmaking system and invite professional buyers from China and abroad in advance for one-on-one matchmaking by specialists before the exhibition. We will secure opportunities for on-site business consultation for exhibitors to make the exhibition more efficient. As we maintain our advantages in traditional procurement channels in Europe and the Americas, we increase the recruitment and promotion for buyers and visitors in emerging markets in Asia to create a genuine one-stop business and trading platform for domestic and export sales.

The industry forum at CIHS 2019 will focus on industry trends, inviting experts from the Chinese National Hardware Association and EDRA/GHIN who will provide insight into the import/export data of hardware products in China, new procurement standards for hardware tools and product retailers in Europe and other popular topics. This will open bilateral trading channels for promoting Chinese hardware companies overseas and introducing foreign brands into China.

Enhancement of network via new Koelnmesse Global Competence in Hardware campaign
