2016 China International Hardware Show Closes with Great Achievements

52,175 domestic and overseas visitors, over 10% increase compared with last year
2,920 exhibitors, including 320 from overseas
National pavilions from Germany, Taiwan, Korea and India

CIHS 2016, jointly organised by Koelnmesse and China National Hardware Association (CNHA), closed on 23 October 2016 with great achievements. 150,000 sqm exhibiting space were covered this year with 2,920 exhibiting companies. 52,175 visitors from all over the world have been present onsite during the three days. “The exhibiting area is growing together with a great increase in domestic and overseas buyers, after moving to the new exhibition venue.” said Mr. Gerald Böse, President and CEO of Koelnmesse GmbH and complemented “CIHS is continuing to enhance its international awareness. Therefore, I am confident that CIHS will prove its position as the most important hardware show in Asia.”
Highlights of National Pavilions

The Pavilions of Germany and Taiwan were highlights of CIHS for several editions. This year, both pavilion organizers displayed their satisfaction for the show, in terms of visitor quality and quantity. Moreover, for the first time, CIHS won official support from India Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). The Indian and Korean Pavilions have caught the eyes of many buyers and aroused their interests to each market.

CIHS gains more and more attention on international stage and reinforces its position as the world’s second largest trade fair in the hardware industry, only overtaken from the EISENWARENMESSE in Germany which is also organized by Koelnmesse. More and more international companies choose CIHS as its first stop entering China as well as the only trade fair they attend. “With this complicated economic situation in the world, CIHS is a table platform with real professional visitors who come for business, not only from China, but also from all over the world.” said Mr. Daniel Völkel, Chairman of the board of Völkel GmbH.

Continuous Increase of Visitor Number
Despite the impact of two typhoons and the heavy rain in Shanghai, the visitor number of CIHS 2016 increased over 10% compared with last year, which is beyond all expectation: 52,175 professional buyers, including 5,948 from overseas.

The hardware industry is facing great challenges in recent years, and CIHS is playing a more important role in this circumstances. The organizers made great efforts during the past year for the domestic and international visitor recruitment. Promotion Meetings were organized in Germany, France, USA, Taiwan, India, as well as in dozens of manufacturer and distributor industry clusters in mainland China: Beijing, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Zhejiang etc.

Onsite Activities Match the Industry Trend
Various forums, technical seminars, new product shows, and awards ---various activities were taking place in the past three days. To meet the requirements of manufacturers and introduce European new measures in this Industry 4.0 Era, the organizer called for a “Sino-EU Hardware Forum”. Over 200 attendants from all over the world, including manufacturers, traders, associations and media gathered at the forum. A dialogue among China National Hardware Association, International Federation of Hardware and Housewares Associations (IHA), European DIY Retail Association (EDRA), and several China leading manufacturers took place during the forum. The seminar “Internet+” organized by Alibaba.com and China Hardware Magazine was another dialogue; reflect the compromise of modern and traditional ways of business. The Onsite Activities were completed with different Awards like the “Golden Hook Award”, “China Top Hardware Brands Award” and the “Top 10 Lock Cylinder Kings” that displayed the top quality products in China and specified matchmaking sessions.

Next CIHS will be held from 22-24 October 2017 in the National Exhibition & Convention Center (Shanghai).
