CIHS 2014 closes on high note
Date:2014/9/29
Asia`s largest hardware trade fair, the China International Hardware Show (CIHS), successfully concluded in China`s commercial center of Shanghai on Sep 20 at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center. Even with the separation of the kitchen and bathroom segment, the event this year has retained its scale in terms of exhibitor number and visitor number. Overseas visitor number is increasing compared with CIHS 2013, further reinforcing CIHS` leading position in Asia.
High-end positioning
Of the domestic exhibitors, 90 per cent were backbone enterprises in the industry. During the three-day trade fair, a host of activities and feature showcases centering on tools, mesh products, locks, smart locks, bolts and hardware gave a comprehensive overview of the quality products China has to offer.
A 30-year industry veteran, general manager of tool manufacturer New Leaf Tools Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Wang Yu, introduced a range of patented and uniquely invented products from the company.
Spotted at the Guandong Archie Hardware Co., Ltd. booth was a lock that connects to a range of household goods, such as appliances, lamps and curtains through a mobile phone software. Via remote mobile control, users can manipulate a variety of household items, to achieve the perfect combination of convenience and security, attracting the attention of many exhibitors and trade buyers.
An international event
A glance at the international zone revealed an exhibition floor represented by advanced German manufacturing standards. Aiming at the potential growth of China`s consumer market, international brands exhibited at CIHS 2014.
Hailing from Mexico, CEO of Productos de Alambre, Alberto Marchino Daued, said: "This year we had more visitors from China than last year. It shows the Chinese market is still very important in the construction field. CIHS is the only place in the world where you can reach these buyers."
"As we decided not to be with the German Pavilion, we had a little [lesser] visitors as [compared with] last years, but the quality is very good. We had a lot of positive contacts and it will take time to quantify the result, but I can already say I`m satisfied, and we`ll exhibit next year, of course," expressed Daniel Völkel, chairman of the board of Völkel Germany.
Hosted by CIHS and US-based Presidents Council alongside the trade fair, the Buying Day, a paid sourcing event aimed at providing face time opportunities between exhibitors and international buyers from Europe and the US, has won approvals from all participants. Exhibitors were elated to get the rare chance to meet with sourcing giants and introduce their products in detail.
Augmented visitor services
This year`s event saw the employment of the latest smart technology for visitor registration and keeping attendees updated with the latest show and industry information to enhance visitor experience.
The next CIHS will be held from Oct 21-23 at a new location in Shanghai.
