CIHS 2014 to open to more refined product categories, stronger international representation
Date:2014/9/15
As an indicator for the hardware market and an industry benchmark, the highly anticipated China International Hardware Show (CIHS) will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from Sep 18-20. A total of 2,600 exhibitors will be taking part, and organizers are expecting 40,000 visitors to walk through its doors in this edition. Additionally, the streamlining of exhibit profile to separate kitchen and bath hardware starting from 2014 seeks to enhance the event`s focus on its core segments.
Showcasing new products and technologies spanning over 30 categories and over 10,000 product types, CIHS boasts a domestic exhibitor line-up of China`s top manufacturers and pavilions from the hardware bases of Hebei, Zhejiang and Guangdong.
CIHS is not only China`s largest trade fair of its kind, it is also the event with the highest international exhibitor participation, attracting 120 overseas brands from Germany, Italy, India, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan, including the well-known German brand Kullen, Rhodius and Völkel, as well as Italian brand Plastmeccanica. In addition, prominent pavilions from the Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers` Association and the Importers and Exporters Association of Taipei will also be featured.
Intensified visitor promotion activities targeted at the surrounding regions of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai provinces are expected to pull in more buyers from the respective areas. Visitors who are able to read Mandarin will also be able to access the event`s WeChat page, a popular social media platform used increasingly for business-to-business marketing, to learn about the latest industry and show news, and download the show mobile application to facilitate exhibitor and product search and enjoy more conveniences at the event.
With a 22-strong member buyer delegation from global DIY retailers Lowe`s, Rona, Adeo and Mitre10, the Buying Day, a collaboration between the US-based Presidents Council and CIHS, is poised to be a key highlight for exhibitors this year.
During the three-day trade fair, activities such as the 5th Session of the 5th Council of China Hardware and Electromechanical Chamber of Commerce (CHEC), the 7th Cutting, Grinding & Polishing Applied Technology Forum, the Door-Lock Procurement Meeting, and the YGT Remote-sensing System Experience Museum will take place to provide exhibitors and visitors with more opportunities for learning and exchange.
