CIHS 2013 to offer enriched content, more specialized event
Date:2013/11/30
Asia`s largest DIY (do-it-yourself) and hardware event – the China International Hardware Show (CIHS) - will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center on Nov 26.
The number of exhibitors at this year’s edition has reached a high record. Among them, over 200 hail from overseas, with 20 countries and regionsrepresented. Exhibits include tools, building hardware, fasteners, locks andsecurity products.
Two sub-exhibitions, three feature zones
The China International Building Hardware Show and the China International Locks & Security Show will return once again, bigger and better with dedicated
buyer delegations and business matching sessions. Another two mainstays of the event, the Protective Products zone and the Abrasive Tools & Materials zone will continue to cater to the specific needs of buyers, together with the addition of a new Processing Machinery zone.
Establishing segment-specific sub-events and feature zones is a major step and signal towards building a more specialized event, which is also the trend for trade fairs around the world. As a major hardware exporting segment, the market for building hardware is immense in China, while locks are a traditional yet emerging product with technology advancements expanding the market.
CIHS 2013 will see strong showing on the national and regional pavilion front from the Association of German Tool Manufacturers (FWI), the Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers` Association, the Importers & Exporters Association of 2/3 Taipei (IEAT) and the Taichung Importers & Exporters Chamber of Commerce. Apart from that, the Chinese hardware industry bases of Anping and Huanghua, both in Hebei province; Jinhua, Wenzhou, Pujiang and Haiyan in Zhejiang province as well as Shunde and Zhongshan Xiaolan in Guangdong province, will also feature some of the top companies from the regions.
Over 10,000 visitors have pre-registered to attend the exhibition including hardware and building materials distributors, construction and real estate project designers, buyers and importers and exporters. On top of that, buyers from established international sourcing houses with the likes of Wal-Mart, Carrefour, Home Depot, Kingfisher, Lowe`s, Leroy Merlin, Saint-Gobain and Metro will be at the event to seek opportunities for cooperation.
Advocating innovations, and ‘green’ manufacturing
As an event committed to promoting new technologies, materials and technology applications in the field of hardware manufacturing for high value-added hardware products targeting the international and Chinese high-end market, CIHS will feature a series of activities such as the “Best of China” showcase featuring a comprehensive display of outstanding brands and top products from China`s hardware industry and the promotion of low-carbon, energy-saving products.
Along with the exhibition, seminars involving technical and marketing aspects as well as real estate trends are expected to bring together the active participation of the Chinese hardware industry.
Starting 2012, the Chinese hardware market has been showing signs of recovery since the 2008 European debt crisis. According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, annual export of China`s hardware industry is growing at a rate of about ten percent. Hardware exports last year exceeded 50 billion U.S. dollars, ranking third among the exports of light industry.
